The Space Shuttle Enterprise at John F Kennedy Airport

6pm yesterday marked the beginning of our vacation. Cathy and I are destined for Montreal after attending a wedding this afternoon/evening in Danbury Connecticut (Congrats Kelly & Terrence). Cathy flew into JFK as usual so I picked her up on the way home from work. On my way into the John F Kennedy Airport I noticed the space shuttle Enterprise out of the corner of my eye. Yes, the shuttle is still calling JFK home — though now removed from the back of the 747 that got her there. After picking Cathy up from her gate we headed towards the shuttle for a better look. Anyone interested in sneaking a peak can find her to the west of the Van Wyck Expressway in a corner of the runway. In fact you can access the airport’s service road from the south-bound lanes of the Van Wyck and you’ll be able to find a parking lot and a bus stop nearby that provide the views you’ll find in the pictures I took. Had I known the Exterprise was still at JFK I would have grabbed my Cannon S95, but alas, these iPhone 4S pictures will have to suffice — at least for now. Seeing the shuttle was a pretty cool start to our vacation!
