A couple of weeks ago I sent a pair of defective memory modules to Corsair for replacement under warranty. Everything about the RMA process went smoothly. Last night I arrived home and was pleased to see my replacement memory had arrived. That was until I saw the condition of the package. Unfortunately the modules were shipped via UPS Ground which seems to mean the package is used as a chew toy for dogs, a seat cushion for overweight drivers, and as a ball in a rugby match. No matter what caused the damage, the package arrived completely destroyed and the contents were clearly visible through the side of the box which was ripped open. The modules were dislodged from their retail packaging and not-surprisingly did not work when I installed them in my computer. Who knows what really happened during shipping but its clear UPS Ground can not be trusted to get packages to their destinations safely. I am currently working with Corsair to get another set of replacement memory modules, which with any luck will arrive in one piece.

Just to update — Corsair sent me new modules and initiated a claim against UPS. I have to hold onto the crushed packaging and bad memory until I hear from UPS. Thus far I haven’t heard ANYTHING from UPS.

Once the United Pot Smugglers realized it didn’t contain doobage, your package was marked for death. Tell Corsair to send the next one with a fat 420 sticker on the side, it will arrive unscathed. Guaranteed.

I would have thought it would be the other way around — They thought there WAS pot in the package and they opened it with the intention of taking it!

That would apply if they were the United Pot Smokers, but alas they merely smuggle.
