#ATTdrop, the perfect way to share your crappy AT&T experiences with the world.
Anyone who has AT&T service in a major market has come to accept the outrageous dropped call percentage [1]. AT&T conveniently blames the iPhone for this “recent” problem, but I had this problem with AT&T 5 years ago when I owned a simple Motorola V400 flip phone. At that time AT&T blamed the V400 for the dropped calls. My girlfriend owned two different Nokia flip phone models, both on AT&T, both before the iPhone was ever released. She suffered the same outrageous dropped call percentage I experienced with my V400. AT&T claimed that not one, but both of her Nokia phones were the reason for the dropped calls. In both of our cases they recommended purchasing a different model phone (which also carried a new contract). Noticing a pattern? The problem was especially ironic when they were running their “fewest dropped calls” ad campaign.
Now the iPhone is the bad guy … and because of its immense popularity it doesn’t seem like the blame will be shifted anytime soon. Guess what AT&T, I’m not buying into your lies. Having been a customer for over 6 years now (I was a customer before AT&T purchased Cingular), I can say without a doubt that the issues began to surface within weeks of the Cingular buyout, and have existed long before the iPhone was even a product.
Experiencing a high rate of dropped calls? Tweet about it buy pasting the below into your status feed: “Hey AT&T – you just dropped another one of my calls #ATTdrop”. If you would like to include your mobile device manufacturer name/model then paste the following: “Hey AT&T – you just dropped another one of my calls while using a

Hey Chris. Maybe it’s because I don’t have a fancy phone, but if I did not have service in the city where I live, I can’t imagine staying with the same carrier… How do you do it?
Anyway, it was great meeting you yesterday. I’m glad your blog is about serious stuff and not just about what you had for breakfast and stuff. I hate those.
Anyway, I’ll talk to you later.
