Hi, my name is Chris Schiffner. I was born and raised in NYC but decided to move to greener pastures after 34 years in the big city. These days I call Rochester, NY home. I first discovered Rochester while attending college at RIT, from which I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. I’m an IT Consultant & Web Developer by trade. After working 20 years as an IT Manager, System Administrator, Network Administrator, and Web Developer, I founded ROC IT Services which provides IT Consulting services.
When I’m away from the office I enjoy relaxing with my girlfriend Cathy and our dog Molly. My hobbies include photography, hiking, kayaking, skiing, cycling (mountain and road), and ice-hockey. Somewhere in the middle of all that I maintain this website and develop a few pieces of software. My taste in music? If you snapped on a pair of my headphones you’d be treated to some bumping EDM or Indie Rock.
I’m a highly organized, natural born leader with a soft spot for the sweeter things in life. My ideal weekend contains a mix of strenuous activity and serene relaxation. Climb a mountain in the afternoon and unwind by the waterfront in the evening. No waterfront? Campfire it is! I love to challenge myself. A walk in the park is great but a challenging hike is better. I’ve completed several cycling centuries (imperial and metric) with my longest daily ride totaling 126 miles. One day I hope to cycle from Rochester, NY to New York City!
